Make your own handcrafted holiday soap from scratch. In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how cold process soapmaking works and make a batch of plant-based soap to take home. No experience needed.

What you’ll do:

• Learn the basics of cold process soap and how oils and lye become soap, plus soap safety
• Choose from five essential oil scents (sweet orange, peppermint, fir needle, lavender, cedarwood) and our signature holiday blends, or create your own combination
• Color your soap naturally with mineral clays and botanicals, with no synthetic dyes
• Mix, pour, and decorate your own soap in a festive design
• Leave with your own handmade soap, plus a care and curing guide

What’s included:

• All ingredients, tools, molds, and safety gear (goggles and gloves). Everything is plant-based, with no palm oil or animal fats.

Good to know:

• Duration: 2 hours
• Suitable for ages 13+. All skill levels are welcome.
• Handmade soap needs 4-6 weeks to cure, but your bars will be ready to use or gift for Christmas
  
• Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Long hair should be tied back.

About your instructor:
Cassy Velazquez is the founder of small batch lab, a small-batch skincare and soap brand based in Orange County, California. With a background in biological sciences and more than a decade developing and launching wellness products, she loves the chemistry behind soapmaking and making it feel approachable. She’s a mom of two, a maker, and happiest when a room full of beginners pours their first bar and says, “I made that!” Come ready to learn, play with scents, and leave with soap you’re proud to use or gift.

Cancellation policy:

• 14 or more days before the workshop (by Nov 22): full refund.
• 7-13 days before (Nov 23-29): no refund, but you can transfer your ticket to a friend or receive a credit toward a future workshop.
• Fewer than 7 days before, or no-show: no refund or credit. Ticket transfers are still welcome. Just email us the new attendee’s name.
• Ingredients and supplies are purchased in advance based on registration, which is why late cancellations aren’t refundable.
• If we cancel or reschedule for any reason, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to transfer to the new date.
• Because the workshop involves lye, we can’t accommodate children under 13 or guests without a ticket.
